Shhh! No bid rigging in the library

Criminal charges have been laid against one company and six individuals for their alleged roles in a bid-rigging conspiracy.  The conspiracy relates to federal government contracts for the supply of professional IT services to Library and Archives Canada.

The Competition Bureau alleges that Microtime Inc., its owner and two of its employees, conspired to rig bids from April to September 2009.  They have been charged with bid-rigging under the Competition Act.

The other individuals charged were employees of Library and Archives Canada. They have been charged under the Financial Administration Act for “making opportunity for another person to defraud the government”.

The Bureau’s investigation benefited from the Bureau’s Immunity Program.
