Peter R. Greene, In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP announces the passing of Peter R Greene, Founder and Managing Partner of the Firm until the end of 2018.

Peter was not only a driving force behind the Firm but a true friend and mentor to all who had the privilege to work alongside him.

Peter was one of eight partners who established one of Toronto’s first boutique litigation law firms in 1992 and he practiced law for 41 years. He argued countless trials and appeals and was well-respected by his peers. Peter was competitive and affable and built an outstanding reputation over his career. He also brought along many junior lawyers over the years.

“We, the current staff and lawyers at Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP, together with all the people who worked for and with Peter, have experienced a profound loss”, says Michael Binetti, Managing Partner. “Peter was a colleague, mentor, partner, and friend to so many people over the years. Those who experienced even a small ounce of Peter’s wisdom and friendship were truly lucky. We will remember him and his laugh forever.”
