Michael Binetti joins TLA Executive: Advancing Knowledge, Advocacy, and Community
As of May 7, 2025, Michael Binetti, Managing Partner at Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP, joins the the Toronto Lawyers Association Executive, marking a new chapter in his long-standing involvement with the Toronto Lawyers Association (TLA), as a board member for seven years. During that time, he was part of a larger team that saw the TLA through a period of strategic evolution.
“I’ve been proud to be part of the TLA during a transformative time. I learned from and worked alongside a dynamic team when we defined our three core pillars: knowledge, advocacy, and community. These values remain essential to our members, and I’m excited to keep pushing those forward as part of the executive,” said Michael Binetti.
Member Benefits and Legal Support
Michael is especially focused on promoting the value of being a TLA member. That includes access to CLE programs, legal events, and the TLA’s downtown Toronto law library.
One benefit he encourages members to use more often? Help from trained legal librarians free of charge to TLA members. The library isn’t just a quiet place with books — you get help from actual librarians (in-person or virtually) to locate in-depth commentary on specific legal topics, getting copies, note ups, detailed histories of case law and legislation, and even help with using legal databases.
“That’s an underrated asset I always encourage lawyers to take advantage of,” he said.
